Just not past moonset.

Ask a deep-sky observer when they are heading out tonight and the answer is often 'once the moon is down'. Moonlight washes out faint galaxies, so the plan revolves around one time on the calendar. This astronomy travel mug puts that wait on a rotary phone.

The design: Call Me When the Moon Sets

A coral-red rotary telephone, coiled cord and all, sits on a sky-blue shelf. Beside it, a small violet galaxy swirl waits its turn. Under the shelf, a warm yellow cratered moon is half-sunk out of view, as though it is dropping below the horizon.

Below the picture, navy capitals read CALL ME WHEN THE MOON SETS. The art is printed twice on the white mug, once on each side, so the phone faces out whichever hand holds the mug.

Built for the drive out and the wait at the scope

Stainless steel body with a sturdy handle, at home in a car or a gear bag

Fits most car cup holders, so it rides up front on the way to the dark site

25 oz comes with a press-in lid; 40 oz comes with a screw-on lid and a straw

Printed on both sides in bright, playful color on white

Hand-wash only, to keep the print looking its best

Who it's for

Deep-sky and galaxy observers, astrophotographers who plan around moonlight, astronomy club members who drive out to darker skies, and anyone who stays up late for the sky.
