Players, gig-goers and anyone who still keeps ticket stubs will recognize it at a glance, so it also makes an easy present for all three.

What is on stage in Violet Smoke Guitar

A purple solid-body electric guitar stands upright at the center, tilted a little, its rounded body cut away on one side. Pickups, bridge and a dark pickguard are picked out in pale cream linework, and the neck rises to the top of the picture. Behind it a second neck and headstock cross toward the upper right, like another instrument waiting on its stand.

Thick smoke in two purple tones folds around the guitar from top to bottom and thins into wisps on either side. Slanted keyboards sit behind it at left and right, and a curved piano keyboard in cream-white and black sweeps along the bottom in two halves, joined at the middle by a small scroll with fine flourish lines beneath.

A stage spotlight at each side points outward with a white starburst flare. Small purple bolts flash in pairs near the top, and white and purple stars are scattered through the scene. Across the top, two arched words in worn purple capitals crown the picture like the heading of an old gig poster, and the grainy print texture recalls a vintage band tee.

The mug under the artwork

Ceramic, and sturdy enough to be the one you reach for every day

A glossy finish, so the artwork catches the light like a stage lamp

The full design appears on each side, in view from your chair and from across the room

The ceramic contains no lead or BPA

Microwave and dishwasher are both fine, with no special care to learn

Who it's for

Guitarists, keyboard players, rock fans and gig-goers, plus anyone whose desk could use a little stage smoke. It is at home in a rehearsal space, in a spare-room studio, or at an office where the playlist stays in the headphones. It goes over well at a bandmate's birthday, as a thank-you to a guitar teacher, as a holiday gift for a lifelong concert fan, or at the housewarming for a new rehearsal room.

Quick answers

Is there something in it for keyboard players?

Plenty. Keys frame the guitar on both flanks and run along the foot of the picture, so whoever sits behind a keyboard in the band has a mug to claim too.

What kind of music does it suit?

Anything played loud and live. The spotlights, smoke and bolts say stage show, so it fits fans of rock, blues, metal or a good cover band alike.

Can it hold picks and pencils instead of coffee?

Sure. A mug on the desk or by the music stand is a handy home for picks, pencils and a capo, and this one still looks the part when it goes back to holding coffee.

Shipping and returns

Free US shipping.
