Five little walkers, four teal mugs and not a single word between them.
This cartoon coffee mug carries March of the Muglings across your kitchen counter: a single-file line of storybook kids, most of them hugging a mug of their own. Pour your morning coffee into it, or give it to the parent, teacher or grandparent who lives that scene five days a week.
March of the Muglings: the drawing on this cartoon coffee mug
Five cartoon children walk in a row, drawn mid-step in a flat storybook style without heavy outlines. Every one of them has rosy cheeks. The child at the left end, in a green dress and red shoes with curly ginger-blond hair, has both hands raised to a wide-open mouth and carries nothing at all.
The other four each hold a plain teal mug in both hands, eyes closed and smiling. One wears a mustard-yellow sweater with dark hair in a small top bun. The next has a red pinafore over a yellow top, a brown backpack and a little braid. Then comes a red cardigan with blue jeans and pink shoes, and at the right end a tan cardigan with a teal shoulder bag.
There is no lettering, no background and no ground line, only the figures in warm autumn-like colors: mustard, brick red, coral, sage and navy. The row sits as a narrow band across the middle of the mug, closer to a page from a picture book than a slogan. The name sums it up: little ones with mugs, off somewhere together.
A sturdy mug for the weekday rush
- Printed on both sides, which puts the whole line of five in view with the handle on your left or your right
- Dishwasher safe, so it goes in with the breakfast plates
- Microwave safe, handy when the school run outlasts the heat in your cup
- Sturdy ceramic in glossy white with a vivid print
Who it's for
For parents on the school run, teachers and classroom aides, daycare staff, grandparents and people who like picture-book illustration at the breakfast table. It fits a family kitchen, a staff-room shelf or a desk at home. Good moments to give it: Teacher Appreciation Week, Mother's Day or Father's Day, a baby shower for second-time parents, or the last day of school.
Quick answers
Is the name printed on it?
No. March of the Muglings is only what the design is called. The art has no words at all, just the five figures, so nothing competes with the drawing.
What are the children carrying?
Four of them hold a mug in both hands. The drawing shows no steam and nothing inside the cups, so the contents are left to your imagination. The child at the left end has empty hands.
Is the front of the mug printed too?
Not in the middle. Each side carries its own copy of the row, and the stretch of ceramic facing away from the handle is left white, so a front-on view shows only the ends of the two prints.
Is this a mug for children?
The drawing is picture-book style, but the mug itself is ordinary adult drinkware made of ceramic. Ceramic can break if dropped, so use your own judgment before passing it to a small child.
