Teal plates, a pink mane and every claw on the prize.
A plated teal dragon grips a sphere of pastel blocks on this dragon mug, the sort of boss you would gladly meet before breakfast. Fantasy RPG players and lifelong dragon fans are the crowd it was drawn for, and a friend who still tells boss-fight stories will be glad to receive one.
Meet Circuit Dragon: the art in detail
A single winged dragon curls its whole body into a ring around a round sphere. Rectangular teal-blue plates cover its back and limbs like rows of tiles or segments of armor, pink bands run down the belly, and a pink mane shaped like flames starts at the head and continues as spines along the back to the tail. The head sits at the upper left with its jaws open over small fangs, a pink eye, and a thin forked tongue that curls down across the sphere.
Two bat-style wings open to the left and right, shading from blue-violet into pink at the tips, each topped with a clawed wing-hand. Pink-taloned feet hold the sphere tight, and the long tail sweeps underneath before finishing in a curl. The sphere itself is built from small rectangular blocks, cream-white at the upper left and pink toward the lower right, so it looks a little like a mirror ball.
The dragon is a clean, flat-shaded illustration with dark outlines; only the sphere is blocky, a small nod to pixel art. There is no lettering anywhere, so pastel-neon teal, pink, violet and cream do all the talking. It is the moment every fantasy RPG player knows: the boss has its treasure, and it is not planning to share.
What this dragon mug is made of
- A sturdy ceramic mug, made for the daily trip from cupboard to desk and back
- Glossy finish, so the dark surface around the dragon has a clean shine
- The dragon is printed twice, one print on each side of the mug
- The material is lead-free and BPA-free, so the drink is the only thing in the mug
- Dishwasher safe, which makes washing up after a long raid one less job
- Microwave safe too, handy for heating milk or water right in the mug
Who it's for
Fantasy RPG players, tabletop campaigners, dragon fans who sketch wings in notebook margins, and anyone whose setup already runs on teal and pink light. It looks at home next to a keyboard, a dice bag or a row of fantasy novels. Good moments to give it: a guildmate's birthday, a campaign anniversary, a holiday stocking or a thank-you to the friend who carried the raid.
Quick answers
What is the sphere the dragon is holding?
A round ball drawn in small rectangular blocks, cream on one side and pink on the other. Some people see a mirror ball, others the dragon's private treasure. Which it is stays up to you.
Can both dragons be seen at once?
No. The prints sit on opposite sides, so you see one dragon at a time. From the front, with the handle hidden, only a wing and tail edge of each shows at the sides of a plain middle.
Does the bigger size need more room on the desk?
Only in height. The footprint is the same for both, so a coaster or a crowded desk has room for either one.
Will someone who is not into pixel art like it?
Very likely. The dragon is drawn with smooth lines and flat shading, closer to a fantasy book illustration than to an 8-bit sprite. The blocky look belongs to the sphere alone.
