Hat on, scarf knotted, feet up: one small bird has the cold figured out.
A penguin travel mug for the drive, the desk and the walk in between, with a cartoon chick in winter knits looking out from either side. It's stainless steel with a handle and a lid, and it's an easy choice for the person who sends you penguin videos.
Meet the bird on the mug
The star is a baby penguin drawn sticker-style, plopped on its tail and looking right at you. Its orange feet poke out toward the viewer, its flippers and head are black, and its face and tummy are white. Long lashes frame two large dark eyes, a tiny orange beak sits between pink-flushed cheeks, and a few light strokes underneath stand in for a patch of snow.
It's dressed for the season in a berry-magenta knit hat with a ribbed, turned-up band and a scarf in the same yarn, one fringed tail hanging loose. Below the bird, the caption about relaxing the way penguins do finishes the print: the opening words in quick black brush lettering, the last word in fat block letters filled with polka dots and stripes in purple and pink. One of those letters is drawn small with a dot above it, like handwriting on a lunch-bag note.
No iceberg, fish or snowfall surrounds it, only the animal and its caption against white. That keeps the message short: dress warm, stay put, sip something.
How the mug is put together
- Body: stainless steel, finished in white, with a handle on one side
- Car-friendly: shaped to fit most car cup holders
- Lids: the smaller mug closes with a spill-proof plastic press-in lid; the larger one comes with a plastic straw and a screw-on lid
- Print: the penguin appears twice, once on each side of the wide upper part, with plain white at the front
- Washing: hand-wash only, so keep it out of the dishwasher
- Hot drinks: open the lid before placing it on a hot drink, so steam pressure can't build up
Who it's for
Anyone who has a favorite penguin species and will tell you why. It also suits the commuter who wants a friendlier face in the cup holder, the nurse heading in for an early shift and the passenger on a ski-trip drive. Wrap it for a penguin fan's birthday or a holiday exchange between animal people.
Quick answers
Is this a thermos?
We list it as a stainless steel travel mug with a lid and make no claim about hours of heat or chill. Choose it for the art, the handle and the cup-holder fit.
How tall is each size?
The 25 oz stands 7.9″ (20 cm) and the 40 oz stands 10.4″ (26.5 cm). Measure the gap under your coffee machine or the pocket of your bag before you pick one.
Can my name be added to it?
No. The artwork is fixed and prints exactly as pictured, with no option to add text.
Is anything printed on the handle or the lid?
No. The penguin and its caption appear only on the two sides of the mug body. The handle and the lid carry no print.
