One loud moment, frozen at its peak and parked beside your keyboard.

This sound wave mug freezes a single beat as a row of gradient bars and sets it on glossy black ceramic, with a scatter of controller-button shapes for anyone who plays with the audio turned up. Park it by the mixer or the mouse, or wrap it for someone who is rarely seen without headphones.

The design: Neon Waveform, one beat caught mid-swell

Neon Waveform is a picture of sound with no words at all. Upright bars shaped like narrow lenses line up across the side of the mug, each one doubled beneath a thin bright center line, so the row looks like a signal and its reflection. They start short, climb toward the middle and top out in one tall bar flanked by two that are nearly as tall, then step back down. At both far ends the bars give way to a comb of hairlines that narrows to a point.

Color moves down each bar: mint green up top, cyan and sky blue where the bars cross the center line, then violet and hot pink toward the bottom. The tall middle bar shows the full sweep, while the shorter ones on the flanks stay mostly blue. It is flat vector drawing, so the dark ceramic does the job of a switched-off screen behind it.

Over and under the wave drift small controller-button shapes in thin lavender-blue outline and little solid fills, some pointed, some square, some round, plus a pair of down arrows. They are the reason this reads as a player's waveform as much as a listener's, like the level meter of a match in full swing or of a track you keep replaying.

A black cup that keeps up with late sessions

• Ceramic with a glossy finish; the black surface is the background of the art, so the gradient has nothing to compete with
• One wave per side, which means it shows whether the handle sits to your left or your right
• Dishwasher safe, so cleanup is one less thing after a late match
• Microwave safe, for the drink that went cold while you were busy winning
• The material is lead-free and BPA-free, a plain fact worth knowing about something you drink from daily

Who it's for

This one is for players who keep the game audio up, people who cut beats or edit podcasts between matches, and anyone whose desk has more cables than free space. It sits well beside a monitor, on a studio shelf or at the office where your headphones rarely come off. It marks a first set behind the decks, a channel's first upload or a move into an apartment with thicker walls.

Quick answers

Are there any words or numbers on it?

None. The art is all shape: bars, fine lines and small symbols. With no slogan to read, it suits a quiet office as easily as a gaming room.

Is this tied to a particular game or console?

No. The small shapes are generic button shapes and arrows, and no logo, character or title appears anywhere on the mug, so it works for anyone who plays, on any system.

What do I see with the handle pointing away from me?

A stretch of plain glossy mug with the thin tapering tail of each print coming in at the left and right edges. The full wave sits on the two sides, next to the handle.

Which size for a slow sipper?

The 15 oz. It adds four ounces without getting any wider, so the drink lasts through a long playlist. The 11 oz is the regular-coffee size.
