Description

One pair of notes, a ribbon of sheet music and letters as round as balloons.

Band kids, choir altos and bedroom producers get a graffiti sticker of their own here: Graffiti Groove, a beamed pair of music notes framed by graffiti-style bubble letters. Add one to a note for a music teacher or a bandmate when a small present is called for.

The design: a note pair riding a wave of staff lines

At the center, two eighth notes are joined by one thick beam. The beam is green, the left note head is blue and the right one coral-red, and each stem shades from the green down into the color of its head. Both heads carry a small white shine mark, and a heavy black outline holds the pair together.

Behind them, a wavy cream band ruled with black staff lines runs from left to right like a strip pulled from a songbook. Four small black notes with flags sit on it, flanking the big pair. An irregular light-blue splash spreads behind everything, sprinkled with small black and cream four-point sparkles and a few coral, blue and green dots at the edges.

Graffiti sits across the top and Groove along the bottom in fat, rounded cream letters, edged in black and backed by a black shadow that lifts them off the splash, each line a little arched and tilted. In the top word the two i's are drawn small and dotted between the capitals. That puffy lettering is where the graffiti comes in; everything else is flat cartoon drawing about music itself.

A graffiti sticker shaped by its own lettering

  • The kiss-cut follows the letters and the splash, leaving a white edge and a rounded, slightly landscape shape
  • Opaque film: a tired sticker or a painted patch disappears under it
  • Bubble-free application that takes a moment: line it up and press
  • Durable vinyl that suits everyday use
  • Before applying, clean the place it is going

Who it's for

Players, singers, music students and the teachers who keep them counting, plus anyone who likes lettering with some bounce. A practice binder, a metronome, a laptop lid or a pencil tin are places to consider. Good moments to give one: day one of band camp, opening night of the school musical, or a thank-you for an accompanist.

Quick answers

How much space does the note pair take up at each size?

Choose 3″×3″, 4″×4″ or 5.5″×5.5″ and the shaped sticker's wider side is about 3″, 4″ or 5½″ to match. Choose 15″×3.75″ and you get one sticker on the sheet, about 3¾″ (9.5 cm) at its widest.

What makes the lettering graffiti-style?

The letter shapes. They are fat and rounded, outlined darkly and given a drop shadow, a bubble look drawn here in clean cartoon form.

Which notes are drawn in the middle?

Two eighth notes sharing a single beam, one of the earliest shapes a music student learns to read. The four small ones around them are single notes with flags.

For players, singers and students who doodle notes in the margin of every notebook page.

Why music people pick it

  • Readable from across the room — a chunky beamed duo floats over rippling sheet-music lines, framed by puffy lettering.
  • Shaped, not boxed — the outline traces the artwork, and the opaque vinyl hides an earlier decal placed beneath it.
  • A small encore — hand one to each section after the spring concert, or to the tutor who got you through your scales.
  • 3″×3″
  • 4″×4″
  • 5.5″×5.5″
  • 15″×3.75″
