A warm cup on the porch boards, an empty chair and the mountains glowing orange at sunset.

This cabin wall art, Mountain Porch Floral, frames the view from a flower-hung wooden porch out to snowy peaks and a turquoise lake, made for anyone counting the days until the next mountain getaway. Its retro travel-poster look brings a calm, outdoorsy note to a room, and it makes a thoughtful gift for a cabin or lake-house owner.

The design: Life's Better with Blooms, seen from the porch

Across the sky, "Life's Better" runs in a big orange-red retro script with a darker drop shadow, and just below it "WITH BLOOMS" sits in small cream capitals. The lettering reads like a postcard sent home from the hills.

You stand under the roof of a covered wooden porch: rafters run along the top, square posts frame the view, and a railing edges the left side. A basket of orange-red flowers hangs on a chain from the roof beam, more blooms and green leaves spill along the porch edge, a wooden Adirondack-style chair waits on the right, and a white cup rests on its saucer on the plank floor.

Past the railing, dark pines stand on both sides of snow-capped mountains, a path leads down toward a turquoise lake, and soft clouds drift through an orange-peach sunset. Bold flat shapes and a dark green border give it the feel of a vintage travel poster, in forest green, sunset orange, teal and warm wood brown.

Who it's for

Hikers, lake lovers, porch sitters and anyone who feels most at home with a view of the peaks will recognize this scene. Hang it in a cabin, a lake house, an entryway, a living room or a reading corner, and give it for a housewarming, a flower lover's birthday, Mother's Day or the holidays.

Quick answers

Is there a cabin in the picture?

Not as a building. The scene is drawn from the porch itself, so the roof, posts, railing and chair frame the mountain and lake view, as if you were the one sitting there with that cup.

Do the square sizes cut off the lettering?

No. In the squares, the lettering, porch frame, flower basket, chair, cup and mountain view all fit, with a slightly wider green border around the scene.

Which size suits an entryway or a mantel?

For a narrow entry wall, 12″×18″ (30.5 × 45.7 cm) or 16″×20″ (40.6 × 50.8 cm) works well. Above a mantel, bench or couch, 18″×24″ (45.7 × 61.0 cm) or 24″×36″ lets the sunset carry across the room.

Can it hang in a cabin or lake house?

Yes. Hang it away from direct sun and damp spots such as a bathroom or a screened porch, and a frame with glass helps protect the paper when the air is humid.
