One horn, a sky full of lightning and three words that say it loud.

Truth in Brass is a trumpet poster for players who know a horn is meant to be heard: a hand-drawn trumpet blasts out bolts and rays above heavy, distressed lettering. The high-contrast art is printed on bright matte paper, and it makes a fitting present for anyone who carries a trumpet case to rehearsal.

Inside the art: a trumpet that crackles

Up top, a trumpet lies on its side with the bell flaring to the left and its three valves standing tall, drawn in fine white stipple like an old engraving. Lightning bolts, sharp rays and tiny stars burst out around it in every direction, as if the first note just hit.

Below, TRUTH fills the width in heavy, roughed-up capitals, with IN BRASS stacked underneath. A smaller line, THE THRILL OF THE RIDE, tips at a slight angle beneath them and adds a dash of motion to the slogan. Specks and dots scatter across the background like ink spatter from a screen print.

There is no color at all, only white lines on solid black, which gives it the punch of a gig flyer taped to a band-room wall. It celebrates the brass player's moment: stepping up, taking a breath and letting the whole room hear it.

Bold contrast on bright, sturdy paper

• Easy to read in any light: the matte surface has no shine, so the stippled horn and the lettering never vanish behind a reflection
• A bright base of 104% ISO brightness keeps every white line clean and sharp against the dark field
• Solid in hand at 189 g/m² and 10.3 mil thick, on paper sourced from Japan
• Your wall color stays hidden behind the print, thanks to 94% opacity
• From 5″×7″ (12.7 × 17.8 cm) for a music stand corner to 24″×36″ (61.0 × 91.4 cm) for a whole wall, with A2 (16.5″×23.3″, 41.9 × 59.2 cm), A1 (23.3″×33.1″, 59.2 × 84.1 cm) and five square sizes in between
• Made to order and sent without a frame, ready for one of your choosing

Who it's for

Trumpet players, brass-section regulars, marching band kids, jazz fans and music teachers who want a practice space that feels alive. It suits a practice room, a studio, a dorm or a hallway near the music stand, and it marks a recital, a graduation, a first-chair seat or a birthday.

Quick answers

What does the small line under the title say?

It reads THE THRILL OF THE RIDE, in small capitals set at a slight tilt beneath IN BRASS. It is part of the printed art, so it appears on every size, square ones included.

Is it only for jazz fans?

Not at all. The art names no genre, so it works just as well for a marching band, a ska horn line, an orchestra trumpeter or a church brass ensemble.

Which size suits a band room?

For a big band-room or studio wall, 24″×36″ (61.0 × 91.4 cm) lets the lightning burst read from the back row. For a locker door or a shelf nearby, 5″×7″ (12.7 × 17.8 cm) or 8″×10″ (20.3 × 25.4 cm) keeps it close.

Is the trumpet a photo?

No. It is an illustration drawn in fine white dots and strokes, so up close you can see the stipple texture, while from a distance it reads as one bold shape.
