Sunrise or sunset? The pixels leave that up to you.

Some pixel art sunset scenes shout, but this one is the quiet kind: a single pale-gold sun resting on a flat water horizon, with its glow running down the dark surface below. Choose from eleven portrait sizes and five squares; every print is made on request.

The design: a striped sun and its long reflection

The sun is a big pixel disc, solid pale gold at the top and cut by thin horizontal stripes across its lower half, the way retro game screens drew a setting sun. Straight below it, a golden-red reflection stretches down the water in matching stripes, broken into blocky pixels as it runs.

Red-pink pixel clouds rise at both sides of the sun. The sky behind them is a smooth banded gradient, dark slate and navy at the top, through maroon, to crimson-orange along the horizon, with a few tiny star dots high up. The water is dark plum, and the horizon is one ruler-straight line. Nothing else is in the picture: no figures, no objects, no lettering.

Portrait sizes show a tall stretch of sky above the sun and deep water beneath it. The square sizes trim to a band around the sun and the horizon, keeping the whole sun and reflection in view.

Sixteen sizes, one for every wall

• Eleven portrait sizes, from 5″×7″ (12.7 × 17.8 cm) up to 24″×36″ (61.0 × 91.4 cm), including A2 (16.5″×23.3″, 41.9 × 59.2 cm) and A1 (23.3″×33.1″, 59.2 × 84.1 cm)
• Five squares: 10″×10″ (25.4 × 25.4 cm), 12″×12″ (30.5 × 30.5 cm), 14″×14″ (35.6 × 35.6 cm), 16″×16″ (40.6 × 40.6 cm) and 18″×18″ (45.7 × 45.7 cm)
• Enhanced matte paper, 189 g/m² and 10.3 mil thick, with no shine, so the dark sky reads deep instead of glossy
• 94% opacity, so the dark water looks solid rather than see-through
• 104% ISO brightness means bright white paper, so the pale-gold sun reads clean
• Paper sourced from Japan, and sold unframed so you pick the frame

Who it's for

Retro-game fans who like their pixels calm, plus anyone who wants a sunset on the wall without a landscape painting's seriousness. It suits a dorm, a desk, a bedroom, a game room or a quiet office corner. It also works as a Christmas or birthday present.

Quick answers

Is it a sunrise or a sunset?

The art doesn't say. There is no clock, no figure and no sign of the time of day, only a sun on the horizon. Call it whichever one matches the room it hangs in.

Is any text printed on it?

No. The picture carries no words or logo at all, which keeps it simple wall art for a game room, a bedroom or an office.

Which size should I pick for a desk or a bed?

5″×7″ (12.7 × 17.8 cm) or 8″×10″ (20.3 × 25.4 cm) suits a shelf or a desk. 18″×24″ (45.7 × 61.0 cm) works above a bed, and 24″×36″ (61.0 × 91.4 cm) fills a bare wall over a sofa.

Do the square prints show the whole sun?

Yes. The squares trim some sky and water but keep the full sun and its reflection. The portrait sizes are the ones to choose if you want the tall sky.
