A striped sun sinking into a grid that never ends: tomorrow, the way the 1980s drew it.

This vaporwave poster, Sliced Sun Horizon, sets a banded sunset sun on a glowing skyline above an endless neon grid, an 80s retro poster for anyone raised on arcade-era color. It comes on thick matte paper and makes a bright gift for a game room, a dorm or a first apartment.

The design: a sliced sun over an endless neon grid

A big sun rests right on the horizon, glowing yellow-orange at its base and turning hot pink and magenta toward the top. Dark horizontal stripes slice across it in bands, the signature look of synthwave art, and a faint scan-line texture runs through the glow.

Above, an inky purple night sky warms to magenta around the sun, dotted with tiny, faint stars. A bright orange-pink line marks the horizon, and below it a perspective grid of glowing cyan and magenta-violet lines stretches over dark purple ground, every line running toward the sun. A brighter cyan line cuts straight down the middle like a road to the edge of the world.

There are no words, no figures and no objects, only sun, sky and grid. It captures nostalgia for a future that never came: the chrome-and-neon tomorrow promised by old arcade cabinets, cassette covers and late-night TV, and anyone who remembers it knows the picture on sight.

A flat matte finish for a crisp neon grid

• Sixteen sizes in two shapes: portrait from 5″×7″ (12.7 × 17.8 cm) to 24″×36″ (61.0 × 91.4 cm), A2 and A1 included, and squares from 10″×10″ (25.4 × 25.4 cm) to 18″×18″ (45.7 × 45.7 cm)
• Enhanced matte paper, 189 g/m² and 10.3 mil thick, with a soft, non-shiny finish that keeps reflections off the dark purple sky
• 94% opacity, so the deep night tones stay rich and even instead of letting the wall show through
• 104% ISO brightness, so the hot pink sun and the cyan grid lines print clear against the dark ground
• Paper sourced from Japan; crafted on demand and shipped unframed

Who it's for

Retro gamers, synthwave and 80s music fans, and anyone who misses neon-lit arcades. It brings a warm sunset glow to a game room, bedroom, dorm or home office, and suits a birthday, a housewarming, the holidays or a graduation.

Quick answers

Do the square sizes crop the sun?

No. The whole sun, the horizon line and the grid appear on every size. The squares give a wider view with more grid at the sides, so the sun looks a little smaller; portrait sizes add more starry sky above it.

Is there any text or character in the art?

None. The print is pure scenery, with no lettering, logos, cars or figures, so it sits easily next to other art, a shelf of games or a record collection.

Which size works over a sofa or bed?

For a wide wall, 20″×30″ (50.8 × 76.2 cm), A1 (23.3″×33.1″, 59.2 × 84.1 cm) or 24″×36″ (61.0 × 91.4 cm) fills the space. Over a desk, 11″×14″ (27.9 × 35.6 cm) or 12″×16″ (30.5 × 40.6 cm) fits without crowding the monitor.

Can I hang it without a frame?

Yes. Removable poster strips, tape or clips on a wire all work, as several photos show. Keep it dry and away from strong sun; a soft, dry cloth lifts any dust.
