Inside Coral Rims and Blue River

The view starts at the top with a muted blue-gray sky. A pale peach sun sits right of center, partly behind a far rim drawn in pale blue-gray steps, and one large dark bird glides to the left of it.

From both sides, stepped canyon walls close in toward the middle in layers of coral, terracotta and lighter peach. Deep in the gorge between them lies a pale blue river. At the lower left, a small dark tree stands on a sand-colored ledge with a crack line running down to the right.

The lower third is plain terracotta and carries the lettering in charcoal capitals: "GRAND CANYON" in tall, narrow letters, "NATIONAL PARK" in smaller widely spaced ones, and a small line that reads "ARIZONA • EST. 1919". The park dates from that year.
