Description

Side A is coffee. Side B is whatever you put on next.

Crate diggers, beat chasers and vinyl daydreamers, this latte mug is yours. It carries a single black record and two words of chunky seventies-style lettering, and it holds the coffee that goes with the first album of the day.

The design: one record, two words

A black vinyl record is drawn at a tilt, so its circle flattens into an oval. Fine concentric lines mark the grooves, tan highlights catch on them like lamplight, and the center label is left plain white around a small black spindle hole.

Across the record run the two words of the design's name. "Groove" takes the upper half and "Seeker" the lower, in chunky, rounded retro lettering with a large first letter, filled in tan and backed by a heavy black outline and drop shadow. Both lines climb a little toward the right and spill past the edges of the record.

The whole badge uses just two inks, black and tan, plus the white of the label. Nothing is written on that label, so the record can stand in for whichever album sent you digging in the first place.

A tapered latte mug that handles the daily routine

  • Dishwasher safe, so cleanup after the morning cup takes no thought
  • Microwave safe as well, handy for warming milk or a second pour
  • Made free of BPA and lead, which suits a cup that gets refilled all day
  • 100% ceramic, finished in gloss, so the black and tan ink sits on a shiny surface
  • Classic cone shape, the outline coffee-shop latte cups are known for
  • Printed on both sides of the mug, one record per side

Who it's for

Record collectors, weekend DJs, the regular at the used-vinyl bins and anyone whose morning starts with choosing an album. Park it by the turntable, on a studio desk or in the office kitchen. It makes sense as a birthday present for a record-collecting dad, a thank-you to the bandmate who lends you albums, or a small extra alongside a gift card to the local record shop.

Quick answers

Does it suit left-handed drinkers?

Yes. Pick it up in either hand and a record faces the room. From the front, with the handle out of sight, you catch a sliver of each print and bare ceramic between them.

Which album is on the record?

Yours to decide. The drawn label is empty, so the record can be the first LP you bought, the one you are still hunting for, or tonight's pick.

How is a latte mug different from a regular mug?

It comes down to the outline. A latte mug opens out toward the rim and narrows toward the base, which leaves a broad surface on top for milk foam.

Is it only for people who own records?

It works for playlist people too. The lettering is about hunting for a good groove, and that hunt happens on headphones as often as in record bins.

For mornings that start at the record shelf, with the needle down before the kettle boils.

Why it gets picked first

  • Lettering with swagger — fat, rounded disco-era type rides over a slanted LP, all of it done in only a pair of ink tones.
  • Ready for the daily rinse — it goes through the dishwasher and the microwave, and the cup contains neither lead nor BPA.
  • Better with a bargain-bin find — wrap it with a secondhand album and the gift sounds as good as it looks.
