Plant a note, play it something good, and see what comes up.
Somebody planted a song, and this flower sticker shows what grew: a music note standing in a bed of soil with a bloom on either side. Groovy Garden is for people who hum while they water, and it is a cheerful little extra for a friend who does the same.
The design: Groovy Garden, where the tallest stem is a note
At the center of the sticker is a cream circle, like a round window onto a small garden bed. A strip of brown soil marked with short dark dashes runs across the bottom, and out of it rises a dark beamed music note, two eighth notes joined at the top. Its stem curves up from the ground the way a seedling does, with a pair of teal leaves at the base.
A coral flower stands on each side of the note, each on a thin dark stem with teal leaves of its own, and one more small blossom floats near the upper left. Outside the circle, two yellow eight-point stars, a few white sparkles and overlapping teal and coral dots keep the scene lively.
The name is printed in fat, rounded coral capitals, GROOVY arched over the top and GARDEN curving underneath, in the easygoing lettering style of the 1970s. Behind it all is a square of very dark blue-black, which lets the coral and cream stand out.
The joke is gentle and the idea is sincere: songs, like seedlings, need time, light and somebody who keeps showing up.
A flower sticker in opaque vinyl that settles in without fuss
- Cut as a square with rounded corners, with a white kiss-cut border around the dark background
- The film is high-opacity, so whatever it covers, an earlier sticker or a painted patch, stays hidden behind the garden
- It goes down quickly and bubble-free
- Durable vinyl, chosen for things you handle regularly
- Clean the place you have picked, then press it on
Who it's for
Gardeners with a speaker on the potting bench, music teachers with a classroom full of plants, choir members, ukulele beginners and anyone whose houseplants have heard every album they own. It could ride on a seed-packet tin, a garden journal, a lesson binder or a laptop lid. Reasons to hand one over: the first warm weekend of spring, a spring recital, Mother's Day, or a housewarming that comes with a potted herb.
Quick answers
Does the picture reach the edge on every size?
On 3″×3″, 4″×4″ and 5.5″×5.5″, yes: the dark square runs right up to the white border, at about 3, 4 and 5½ inches across. Choose 15″×3.75″ and the sheet is wide, but you receive one square of about 3¾ inches (9.5 cm).
Does a gardener with no musical training get the joke?
Yes. The picture needs no theory: a note is growing where a flower should be. Anyone who plays music while they weed, repot or water will read it in a second.
What kind of note is growing?
Two eighth notes joined by a beam, the pair you would count as one-and. It is drawn as a plant, with a curved stem and two leaves low on the stalk.
What makes it look retro?
Flat shapes, a small handful of colors and plump lettering in the manner of 1970s badges and patches. Nothing is shaded or photographic, so the picture stays simple and clear.
