Description

Every game night has one person who opened the rulebook first. This is their coffee.

This board game mug carries I Read the Rules So You Don't Have To, an original RaZits badge printed on glossy white ceramic. It goes to the player who sets up the board, settles the arguments and still wants a warm drink by the final round.

The design: a vintage book emblem

The joke wraps around a round emblem in two arcs of black serif capitals: I READ THE RULES curves over the top and SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO bends along the bottom. A small six-point star in tan and gold marks each end of the gap between the two lines, and an outer gold ring with a fine dark edge holds everything together like an old library stamp.

In the middle, ringed by a thin dashed line, lies an open book: layered cream pages with a deep maroon cover peeking out at the edge. There is no title on it, so it can be any rulebook, from a party card game to a thick campaign guide. White, black, gold and that single dark red keep the badge calm and easy to read against the bright white mug.

The person it describes is easy to spot. They watched the how-to-play video, they know which card breaks which rule, and they will explain the scoring one more time without rolling their eyes. The badge finally gives them some credit.

Built for refills between turns

  • Sturdy ceramic with a glossy white surface that sets off the black lettering and gold ring
  • Reheat a forgotten drink in the microwave without pouring it into another cup
  • Cleanup is a trip through the dishwasher, and the vivid print is made to stand up to it and to the microwave
  • Every size option carries the same badge, so the look stays the same whichever capacity you choose

Who it's for

Board game hosts, the player who walks the group through each new box on the shelf, card game regulars, tabletop RPG game masters and anyone who keeps the official rules open on their phone mid-game. It holds coffee during setup, tea through a long strategy game or cocoa on a cold game night. Give it on a birthday, as a housewarming present for the new game-night host or in a holiday gift exchange.

Quick answers

Do the spider, nuts and wooden board come with it?

No. Those are seasonal props from the photo shoot. The design itself has nothing spooky in it, and you receive the mug on its own.

Which way does the badge face?

In the photos the badge faces the camera with the handle on the right. That is the side a right-handed drinker looks at; the photos don't show the other side of the mug.

Is the biggest mug also the tallest?

No. The largest option is wider and a little shorter than the middle one, so it trades a little height for a broader body. The size guide gives each height and diameter.

Does it point to one particular game?

No. The book has no title and the badge names no game or publisher, so it suits any group, whether you play deck builders, party games or long campaigns.

Why it earns a seat at the game table

  • An open book at its heart — the printed joke circles a vintage emblem in black, gold and maroon that reads well from across the board.
  • Made for many refills — the glossy mug handles reheats and machine washing, and the crisp black lettering keeps its color.
  • A thank-you with coffee in it — hand it to whoever taught your group its newest favorite game, right after the final score is tallied.
