Every reader knows the page where the story is about to turn.
Plot Twist Pending is a book lover tote bag for the reader who says one more chapter and means five. It keeps the current read, the backup read and a notebook together, and the three words on the front tell people what kind of evening you have planned.
The design: three words, a book stack and a hot drink
The phrase is set in three stacked lines, Plot, Twist and Pending, in a heavy, curvy retro serif with round ball ends on the letters. Quotation marks open before the first word and close after a final period, so it reads like a line lifted from a conversation about a book nobody has finished yet.
Between the second and third lines sit the props of a good reading session. On the left, a stack of closed hardcovers with their page edges drawn as fine lines, and on top of it a cup on a saucer with two curls of steam. On the right, a book lies open with its pages fanned out, picked out in light grey shading.
All of it is printed in black on the white front of the bag, centered with open space around it. There is no second color and no extra slogan, only lettering and line work, the way a title page looks before the story starts.
A book lover tote bag with room for the next three reads
- Square 15″ × 15″ (39 × 39 cm) bag in 100% polyester, give or take 1″ (2.5 cm), so a large hardcover goes in without bending
- Holds 2.6 US gal (10 L): space for a couple of novels, a journal and a travel mug
- Maximum load 44 lb (20 kg), so a heavy library day is within what the bag is built to carry
- The handles are natural cotton bull denim, an inch (2.5 cm) wide with 26″ (67 cm) of length, enough to wear the bag on your shoulder and keep reading as you walk; they may not look identical to the pair in the photos
Who it's for
Readers who stay up past the chapter they promised to stop at, book-club members who arrive with theories, writers stuck in the messy middle of a draft and librarians who have heard every spoiler. Hand it to the newest member of the book club, to a friend on the day a library card arrives in a new town, or to a literature student after the last exam of the year.
Quick answers
Why is the line in quotation marks?
It is written as a spoken line, the kind a reader mutters a few pages before a story changes direction. Carried on a bag, it doubles as a small joke about life outside the book.
Is the drink in the picture coffee or tea?
That is up to you. The art shows a cup on a saucer with steam rising and nothing more specific, so it suits coffee people and tea people equally.
Which genres does the design suit?
Any with a turn in the story. The picture shows books and a hot drink and no genre symbols, so romance, fantasy, a whodunit or the memoir your book club picked all fit.
