Wings of fire over the treeline, and three lines of lettering that say it is time to climb.
Ember Wing Phoenix puts a blazing firebird on a glossy black phoenix mug, made for anyone who has had to start over and came back stronger. Pour the first coffee of a new chapter into it, or hand it to someone whose comeback you have been cheering on.
The design: a firebird rising above burning pines
Ember Wing Phoenix is painted like a scene from a fantasy novel. A phoenix faces you with both wings flung wide and raised high, every feather tipped with flame in orange, gold and crimson, its head turned to one side as if it has just spotted the horizon. Below the bird, a long tail of fire swirls downward in loose curls.
Behind it, a dusky blue-gray sky fades into a black silhouette of pine trees, and an orange forest fire glows between the trunks along the bottom of the scene. Across the middle runs a three-line rise-up motto in dark angular capitals, each letter traced with a thin gold outline, so the words sit inside the painting like an inscription.
In Greek legend the phoenix burns and is reborn from its own ashes, which is why the bird has long stood for second chances. Here the fire is not the end of the story but the starting point, a small reminder with every refill that you have risen before and can do it again.
A sturdy black mug that handles the daily routine
- This phoenix mug is sturdy ceramic with a sleek glossy black finish, so the orange and gold flames glow against the dark glaze
- Printed twice, one firebird on each side, so the bird stays in view however you turn the mug
- It can go in the dishwasher with the rest of the dishes, and a cooled refill can be warmed in the microwave without moving it to another cup
- The material is free of lead and BPA, a good fit for the hot drinks it will hold every day
Who it's for
For fresh starts of every size: the cook reopening a restaurant, the swimmer back in the pool after a cast came off, the night-school student who finally passed the last exam, and anyone drawn to firebirds, mythology and fantasy art. It holds the early coffee at a home desk, the tea on a night shift or the cocoa on a slow weekend morning. Give it for a birthday, a housewarming, a retirement party or the start of a new school year.
Quick answers
Is it a good gift for someone going through a hard time?
Yes, when it is given as encouragement. The rising bird tells them you believe in their comeback without needing a long card. Pair it with a bag of their favorite coffee beans or tea.
Does the forest fire make it a sad design?
No. The flames sit below the bird, so the scene reads as rising out of the fire rather than being caught in it. Warm gold light against the dusk keeps the mood hopeful.
Is this the same phoenix as on other RaZits items?
No. This painterly firebird over a burning forest is its own painting, different from the flat and pixel-style birds on our other phoenix pieces, so the two never look like copies.
