Put the arrangement on the easel. It is art too.
Arranging a song is its own kind of painting, and this sheet music poster says so with one ink sketch: an artist's easel holding a page of notes. Printed square on matte paper, it suits the wall beside a piano or a teaching studio, and it is an easy thank-you for the person who taught you to read music.
The design: a page of notes where the painting should be
A three-legged wooden easel stands in the middle of the print, drawn in dark brown ink with fine hatching, like an old engraving. A small clamp block grips the top, a ledge runs along the bottom, and a patch of hatch-line shadow sits under the feet. Where you would expect a painting, the easel holds a pale cream sheet, tilted a touch to one side.
On the sheet are two short staves. The upper one opens with a treble clef, followed by a quarter note, a pair of beamed eighth notes and another quarter note; the lower one has a bass clef and three notes. It is a handful of notes, not a tune you can name, which leaves the melody to whoever is looking.
Below the easel, ARTFUL POP ARRANGEMENTS is set in dark brown slab-serif capitals on two centered lines. The whole square is a flat warm beige, like parchment, with that one brown ink throughout: a two-tone, sepia-style picture that treats writing music as a craft worth hanging up.
Matte paper that suits an ink sketch
- Square in every size: 10″×10″ (25.4 × 25.4 cm), 12″×12″ (30.5 × 30.5 cm), 14″×14″ (35.6 × 35.6 cm), 16″×16″ (40.6 × 40.6 cm) or 18″×18″ (45.7 × 45.7 cm), with the beige running to all four edges
- 189 g/m² paper, 10.3 mil, with a matte surface that lets the brown line work look like ink on a page
- At 94% opacity, very little of the wall behind comes through the even beige tone
- 104% ISO brightness: the paper underneath is bright, which helps the fine hatch lines stand apart
- Paper sourced from Japan
- A paper print, sold on its own: no frame, mat or stand is included
Who it's for
Music teachers, arrangers, songwriters, choir and band directors, and students working through their first theory book. It belongs beside a piano, over a writing desk, in a lesson room or above a shelf of music books. Give it to a student after a first public performance, to a bandmate whose arrangement finally got played, or to a friend celebrating a first finished song.
Quick answers
Which song is on the sheet?
None. The notes are a short, generic line on a treble staff and a bass staff, drawn to look like music at a glance. If a guest tries to sight-read it, they will not get far.
Is the beige background textured?
No. It is one flat, even tone from edge to edge. The only shading is the fine brown hatching on the easel and the patch of shadow under its feet.
Is it only for pop musicians?
No. Pop is the word in the lettering, but the notes belong to no style, so the print speaks to anyone who writes, arranges or teaches music, whatever is on the stand that week.
What kind of frame suits it?
Any square frame in the size you order. The art uses one ink on one background tone, so it sits easily with most frame finishes, with or without a mat.
