Welcome to Medusa's Espresso, where the only regular has the wildest hair in myth.
This Medusa coffee mug frames a quiet cafe moment in sunset orange: a woman's silhouette, a head of spiraling curls and a steaming cup waiting on a little round table. Fill it with whatever you drink at golden hour, or make it a present for the person in your life who knows the old legends by heart.
The design: a sunset table at Medusa's Espresso
The picture is a wide rectangular panel washed in a sunset gradient, deep red-orange at the edges and along the bottom and glowing amber-yellow in the middle. Across the top runs a single line of white condensed capitals: MEDUSA'S ESPRESSO.
At the left, a woman is drawn side-on in dark brown-black silhouette, facing right and shown from about the hips up. Her hair takes over the sky: a huge mass of curling, spiraling tendrils streams out behind and above her, and a few curls coil in front of her face. Her hand reaches forward to the handle of a cup on a saucer, two thin wisps of steam rising from it, and the cup stands on a small round pedestal table with curling, root-like legs.
Just in front of her face hangs a bright white round sun, with a thin streak of light running off to the right. Tall dark tendrils rise from the ground at the right in S-curves and spirals, fainter vine-like shapes drift through the orange behind the scene, and a dark band of more curls runs along the bottom. Everything is drawn in a flat, paper-cut poster style.
The lettering supplies the legend, and the scene supplies the calm. Whatever her reputation, here she is simply a customer about to enjoy her order while the day winds down.
What the mug itself brings to the table
- Ceramic body, sturdy and sleek, under a glossy finish
- Two sunset panels, left side and right side, split by plain black at the front
- Neither lead nor BPA in the material
- Safe to microwave when a drink needs warming back up
- Dishwasher safe too, so the sink scrub is optional
Who it's for
Fans of old legends retold, Latin and ancient-history teachers, cafe regulars, sunset chasers and people with famously big curls of their own. Set it on a bookshelf between uses, on a studio table or beside the kettle. Give one at a housewarming, on a barista friend's last shift, during teacher appreciation week or at a going-away party.
Quick answers
Is this an espresso cup?
No. It is a regular coffee mug, and ESPRESSO is part of the cafe name lettered in the art. Both size options are standard mug capacities, far larger than an espresso serving.
Which photo shows the whole scene?
No single one, because the panel is wide and curves with the mug. Handle-left views show the woman, sun and cup; handle-right views show the lettering, table and tendrils.
Does the sunset picture cover the whole mug?
No. It is a straight-edged rectangular picture on each side. Everything outside the two panels, including the handle, keeps the mug's own glossy dark finish.
