A river underfoot, canyon walls on both sides and nowhere to go but upstream.
Our Zion National Park hoodie puts the Slot Canyon Wading Badge on a men's fleece pullover: two hikers making their way up a river through a tall, narrow gorge. Wear it on a cold morning at the trailhead, or give it to the hiker in your life who still has river sand in their boots.
The design: two hikers wading a slot canyon river
The Slot Canyon Wading Badge is one large round print on the chest. Its outer band is a warm sand tone, edged with a thin dark-brown line and a slim white rim, and ZION NATIONAL PARK arcs across the top in sturdy brown capitals.
Inside, two rock walls lean in from the left and right, striped in red-orange, rust and sand like layers of a cake. Only a thin slice of pale sky shows between them at the top. The canyon floor is a light-blue river traced with small white ripples, and two dark figures wade through it. The nearer hiker carries a backpack and leans on a trekking pole; the second walker is farther up the water, small against the cliffs.
A sand-colored banner runs beneath the scene with THE NARROWS in bold letters and a little star at each end, and EST. 1919 sits below it, the year Zion became a national park. The whole scene is drawn in clean, flat shapes with bold outlines, a keepsake of the day the trail was the river itself.
A cozy pullover for cool canyon mornings
- The zion national park hoodie is half cotton and half polyester fleece, 8.0 oz/yd² (271.25 g/m²), a cozy layer when the evening air turns cool
- Soft-spun yarn that forms fewer fuzz balls, so the fleece keeps a tidy face through a season of trips
- A hood with two layers of fabric and a same-color drawcord to pull it close when the wind picks up
- Cuffs and waistband knit with a touch of spandex, so they stretch on easily and hug your wrists and waistline
- A front pouch pocket for a folded trail map, a granola bar or cold fingers
Who it's for
Men who have waded upstream through Zion, canyon walkers planning their first river hike, road-trippers crossing southern Utah and people ticking off a list of parks. It fits a chilly campground breakfast, a scenic drive along the canyon road and a slow evening at home looking back through trip photos. Give it on Father's Day, for a birthday or in the week before a spring hiking trip.
Quick answers
What is THE NARROWS on the banner?
It's the name of the Zion hike that heads upstream into a slot canyon by walking in the river itself. The two figures in the badge are wading that route.
Is the print big, and does it reach the sleeves?
It's one big round print on the front, and the side-view model photos show plain sleeves.
Is this cut for men?
Yes, it's sized as a men's hoodie. Spread your best-fitting hoodie on a table, take its width and its length, then compare with the size guide next to the size options.
How should I care for the badge?
Turn the hoodie inside out, wash cold with like colors and tumble dry on low heat. Never press an iron onto the badge.
