Click, slide, draw, discard: a good game has a beat of its own.
Retro mahjong rarely has this much movement. The Tile Rhythm artwork sends five tiles, red dragon tile included, riding a rainbow wave.
The artwork: five tiles on a rainbow wave
TILE sits at the top in chunky ivory capitals. Below it, five tiles fan out across a sweeping rainbow of teal, coral, navy and gold stripes: dot tiles with red, blue and green circles, green bamboo tiles and, at the end, a red dragon tile marked with the character 中. RHYTHM runs underneath in clean ivory capitals. From TILE to RHYTHM the design runs about 2.9 inches tall and 2.2 inches wide on the 11 oz, or 3.1 inches tall and 2.3 inches wide on the 15 oz.
Keep the beat going
- Glossy black ceramic lets the teal, coral, navy and gold rainbow pop like a retro record sleeve.
- 11 oz keeps a quick tempo at 3.85 in (9.8 cm) tall and 3.35 in (8.5 cm) across.
- 15 oz: 4.7 in (12 cm) tall at the same 3.35 in (8.5 cm) width, for the long set.
- Dishwasher and microwave safe, so the rhythm of refills never stops.
- Lead and BPA-free material behind every click and slide.
Who it's for
The player who loves the click and shuffle of the tiles, the friend with a soft spot for retro style and anyone building a shelf of mahjong things. Add it to a retro fan's birthday pile or the holiday swap, or give it to the host who keeps the beat going every week.
Quick answers
Which tiles ride the wave?
Dot and bamboo tiles plus a red dragon tile with the character 中, fanned out over a striped rainbow.
Are the tiles printed all around the mug?
No. The rainbow wave is a single print on the side opposite the handle, so the handle side and back show only glossy black.
What words frame the rainbow?
TILE above the rainbow and RHYTHM below it, two words for the sound of a good game.
Care
Dishwasher safe and microwave safe.
