Description

Four blue blooms, a scatter of paint dots, and not one printed word.

A floral notebook can get loud; this one keeps to a handful of painted flowers and a great deal of open space. Inside are dotted pages, and it is a gentle thing to give someone who still likes to write by hand.

Petals in washes of blue

The design is called Four Blue Daisies, and the count is exact: two flowers above and two below, set almost in a square on a white cover. Each is daisy-like, a ring of many narrow petals around a round center, painted in watercolor-style washes that run from pale sky blue to deep indigo with darker streaks. The centers are yellow-green, ringed in teal.

Thin pale blue stems drop from the flowers and gather at the bottom center, where they stop in a straight cut. Loose splatter dots land around the petals, and a few small feathery wisps on thin stalks drift between and beside the flowers.

Soft to hold, simple to fill

  • 140 dotted pages, so writing, lists and drawings can share a sheet
  • Bound with a metal wire-o spiral, where the pages turn
  • Both covers are coated with a soft-touch finish, a gentle feel under your hand
  • The covers are 352 g/m² (10.38 oz/yd²) stock, far heavier than the 89 g/m² (2.62 oz/yd²) writing paper between them
  • Measures 5.5″ × 8.5″ (14 × 21.6 cm)

Who it's for

Choose it if you would rather see flowers than a slogan on your desk. Journal keepers, list makers, students and margin doodlers all fit, and the dots take a gratitude list, a reading log, lecture notes or lettering practice equally well. Give it on Mother’s Day, for a birthday, or to a friend starting a new job.

Quick answers

What is on the back cover?

The back carries the same picture as the front, the same way up, so the notebook looks finished whichever side lies face up.

Which way does it open?

Like a book. With the front facing you, the wire runs down the left edge, and the notebook stands taller than it is wide.

How much of the cover does the picture fill?

Most of the width: the four flowers sit as one block in the middle of the cover, with plain white left around them.

Loose watercolor-style petals and plenty of quiet room, on a book that says nothing so you can.

Why it stays within reach

  • Flowers, not slogans — a small bunch in sky-to-indigo tones with speckles of stray paint, and no text to read past.
  • Ready for any layout — the dotted pages leave room for handwriting, tables or sketches without boxing them in.
  • Kind to a bride-to-be — hand it over early, and guest lists and seating plans have somewhere to live.
