The tallest thing in this picture is not the lettering — it is the cliff.
This vintage Italian poster looks across the water at Riva del Garda, where a sheer mountain wall climbs out of the lake above a row of cream palazzi and two small white sails. Drawn as a new piece in the travel-poster tradition and framed in black, ready to hang, it's for anyone who has stood on that promenade and looked up.
The design: Riva del Garda Cliffs, where the rock meets the lake
The view is from out on the lake, at eye level. A sheer dark-teal cliff wall drops straight into the water across the center-right and climbs all the way to the top edge, its sunlit ledges streaked green and ochre. To the left, softer blue-grey ridges fade out beneath a low bank of cream and peach clouds, and a pale mint sky holds the title.
Cream palazzi gather at the foot of the rock along the right edge: a tall building with an arched arcade at water level and a balustraded balcony line, a smaller one with arched windows and a roof terrace, lower buildings, white awnings and a little jetty. Two white sailboats, one larger than the other, sit out on calm, rippled teal water, and gold reflections shimmer beneath the buildings.
RIVA stands in huge condensed capitals over DEL GARDA in the upper-left sky, with LAGO DI GARDA set between short gold rules and TRENTINO • ITALIA beneath. The illustration is graphic and mostly flat, built from clean planes of color with simple shading, stylized ripples and a light grain, worked in deep teal, pale mint, cream, ochre gold and slate blue.

Who it's for
For Lake Garda regulars, sailors and windsurfers, and travelers who came home from the Italian lakes wanting the cliffs rather than the lemon groves. Hang it in an entryway, a home office or over a sideboard. It suits a housewarming, a keepsake for newlyweds back from honeymooning on Lake Garda, a birthday for an Italy lover or a retirement travel memento.
Quick answers
Are the sizes for the print or the whole frame?
They're print sizes. The frame goes around the print, so the outside of the frame is a little larger than the size listed.
Which size should I choose?
The 14″×14″ fits a narrow wall beside a door or over a desk. The 16″×16″ gives the cliff room to tower over a bed or a console table, or to lead a row of Italian lake prints.
How steep is the cliff in the picture?
Very. The rock wall drops straight into the water and climbs past the top of the print, and the town's cream buildings look small at its foot.
Why are there sailboats in the picture?
Two white sailboats, one larger than the other, sit on the calm teal water. They show how tall the cliff is, and they are a nod to anyone who has sailed on Lake Garda.
Is this a copy of an old travel poster?
No. It only borrows the vintage travel-poster look: the cliff, the sails and the lettering were drawn for RaZits, not scanned or copied from an old print.
