Eight wedges of gear, one upright sword and a small heart at the hub.
Sword and Heart Wheel is an adventure mug for players who count the potions and unfold the map before the first coffee is poured. Set it down by the dice tray on session night, or give it to the friend who has never once skipped a side quest.
The design: Sword and Heart Wheel
A thin double-line circle is cut by straight spokes into eight wedges, a little like the spinner from a board game. Each wedge holds one flat cream icon. Start at the top and travel clockwise past a sword standing upright, a faceted gem, a round-bottomed potion flask with speckled liquid, a pocket compass with an eight-point star, a flame, a folded map crossed by route lines, a sprig of three leaves and a plain shield with a line down its center.
The blade of the sword points straight down into the hub. There, a dusty pink sunburst with spiky rays sits behind a heart drawn only in outline, its two lines crossing at the bottom into a short ribbon-like tail. That pink is the single accent; every other mark stays cream against the dark mug.
Under the wheel, the two printed words, a call to begin the quest, run in small sans-serif capitals with a dot at either end. Taken together it reads like a packing list with a purpose: steel, supplies and directions around the rim, and the reason for setting out in the middle.
Made for the long haul at the game table
- A sturdy mug in glossy ceramic, with the cream line art set against solid black, so every icon is easy to pick out
- Zap it in the microwave after the tea goes cold during a debate over which road to take
- Dishwasher safe: when the last encounter is over, it goes on the rack with everything else
- The material holds no lead and no BPA, so the only thing in the cup is what you poured
- The photos show the wheel with the handle on the left
Who it's for
Tabletop RPG groups, the game master who preps notes with a hot drink, fantasy readers and anyone who clears every marker off the map before moving on. It suits a hobby desk, a shelf in the game room or the snack table on session night. It fits a birthday that lands on session night, a nod of thanks for whoever runs your group, a graduation or a winter holiday surprise.
Quick answers
Why these eight icons?
They are what a fantasy party packs: something to swing, something to block with, a flask to drink, a way to find north, a fire, a route, three leaves and a jewel worth the trouble.
Is the heart filled in?
Not here. The heart is a thin outline in the same pale tone as the icons. The one color accent on the mug is the spiky sunburst behind it.
Coffee drinker or tea drinker: which size?
For a single coffee, the 11 oz is plenty. If you brew a big tea and nurse it through a whole session, the 15 oz adds four ounces and some height without getting any wider.
