Is that island with the church real? Yes. Bled Island is Slovenia's only natural island in Lake Bled at the foot of the Julian Alps, and the Pilgrimage Church of the Assumption of Mary stands on it with its bell tower and famous wishing bell. Visitors reach it by traditional flat-bottomed pletna boats rowed from the shore, and the building on the cliff behind is Bled Castle, one of the oldest castles in Slovenia.
