This is a premium heavyweight tee, not a thin basic one. It uses more cotton, gets an extra dye-and-wash step after it is sewn, and is cut roomier, so it feels substantial and looks broken-in from the first wear. That extra fabric and finishing is why it costs more than a regular tee.
