The design is drawn flat — an eye-level view up a narrow stone stairway in bright midday sun, terracotta urns on the steps and a pale-blue door and louvered shutters on the honey-colored wall at left, the rounded arch ahead heaped with golden mimosa and magenta bougainvillea, a black iron lantern on its right pier, and through the opening a cream bell tower with a small dome against a deep blue sky over terracotta rooftops. BORMES-LES-MIMOSAS sits across the top in oversized serif capitals with PROVENCE, FRANCE beneath it between short rules, the whole piece worked in golden yellow, magenta, sandstone ochre, cornflower blue and terracotta.
