It stands in for Deià's parish church of Sant Joan Baptista, which crowns the small hill at the heart of the village on Mallorca's north-west coast; the poet Robert Graves, who lived in Deià for decades, is buried in its churchyard. The mountains behind are the Serra de Tramuntana, a UNESCO World Heritage landscape since 2011.
