Description

Every new hand opens like the next chapter.

This mahjong book lover poster is for the player who reads a new hand the way they read a good story, curious to see how it unfolds. In a layered paper-cut look, the pages of an open book turn into a fan of tiles, in brick red, gold and sage on soft cream.

The artwork: an open book that fans into tiles

An open book with a brick-red cover lies near the center of the sheet. As its cream pages lift and turn, six of them become red panels shaped like the backs of tiles, each edged in gold with a small gold flower, fanned out like a hand. Two face-up tiles rest beside the book: a six-circle tile in green and red and a bamboo tile in green. A brick-red and gold border with fret corners and sprigs of sage leaves and gold berries frames the sheet. There are no words. The artwork fills the whole 8 × 12 inch sheet.
